Begins 100-Day Public Service Drive Following State Directions
Mumbai, March 18, 2025 – With the aim of improving public grievance resolution, the Nashik Housing and Area Development Board, a regional branch of MHADA, held its first Janata Darbar Din today. The initiative, inspired by the Lokshahi Din format practiced at MHADA's central office, offers a direct platform for citizens to raise issues and get speedy solutions.
During this session, Chief Officer Mr. Shivkumar Awalkanthe interacted with six complainants, listened to their concerns, and issued on-the-spot instructions to relevant departments for swift action. Going forward, the Janata Darbar will be held on the first Monday of each month. In the event that this day is a public holiday, the hearing will be shifted to the following working day.
This citizen-focused initiative is part of the state-led 100-day program to enhance service delivery, launched under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister and Housing Minister Shri Eknath Shinde. Acting upon these policy instructions, Mr. Sanjeev Jaiswal, IAS, who serves as the Vice President and CEO of MHADA, has directed all regional boards to actively implement a seven-point action strategy, with emphasis on timely grievance redressal.
To attend the Janata Darbar, residents must fill out the application form available on the MHADA website (https://mhada.gov.in). The complaint should relate to a personal matter. Applicants are required to submit two copies of their form at least 15 days in advance. After submission, citizens will be issued a confirmation receipt as proof.
Please note that certain types of cases are not eligible under this program. These include legal cases under court review, revenue or appeal-related concerns, employment-related matters, incomplete or incorrect applications, and issues already settled in previous hearings. Any such complaint will be forwarded to the appropriate department within eight working days, and the applicant will receive a written update on the steps taken.
A summary report covering all grievances handled during the session will be prepared and sent to the Chief Officer of the Nashik Board. Final decisions or updates will be communicated to each applicant within 30 days of the meeting.
