Sanjeev Jaiswal, IAS, Directs Strict Execution of MHADA's 100-Day Action Plan

In a focused move to address public concerns more effectively, Mr. Sanjeev Jaiswal, IAS, Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA), has directed all regional boards to conduct Janata Din sessions twice every month. This initiative is a core component of MHADA’s 100-Day Action Plan, aimed at improving transparency and speeding up grievance redressal.

To make the program more accessible, arrangements will be made for applicants to attend hearings via video conferencing from their own districts. This plan is being executed under the vision of Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis and guidance of Deputy Chief Minister and Housing Minister Shri Eknath Shinde, and is currently active across all MHADA divisions. Mr. Jaiswal reviewed the ongoing implementation of this plan at a meeting held today at MHADA’s headquarters and issued clear instructions for prompt execution.

During the meeting, Mr. Jaiswal emphasized that all required administrative and technical approvals for projects listed under the seven-point agenda must be completed without delay, and tender notices should be issued within seven days. He also stressed the need to streamline the tendering process in line with a new policy decision, in order to fast-track project execution.

Further, all regional offices have been asked to carry out cleanliness campaigns and submit compliance reports with photographs. Public-facing offices must enhance basic facilities by putting up clear signboards, arranging proper visitor seating, maintaining drinking water stations, and making spaces accessible by installing ramps for persons with disabilities. Each divisional board has also been instructed to set up a Hirakani Kaksha — a safe and equipped space for breastfeeding mothers and pregnant women.

To promote private sector involvement in affordable housing, Mr. Jaiswal has asked boards to hold discussions with real estate developers and investors, encouraging them to support MHADA’s housing initiatives. He also directed all regional officers to personally visit project sites every Tuesday and submit regular progress updates.

To improve execution efficiency, regional boards are expected to coordinate with the Information Technology department, and appoint officers responsible for keeping the MHADA website updated with accurate information. Mr. Jaiswal also reviewed progress under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), and asked officials to speed up geotagging of beneficiaries and integrate them promptly into the MIS portal.

Additionally, he instructed that a proposal be prepared to expand services offered under the Public Services Guarantee Act, ensuring faster and broader delivery of citizen services.

The meeting was attended by senior MHADA officials, including Chief Engineers Mr. Maheshkumar Jeswani and Mr. Shivkumar Aade, Finance Controller Mr. Ajaysingh Pawar, Secretary Mrs. Neelima Dhaigude, and Chief Architect and Planner Mr. Pravin Salunkhe, along with other important team members.
