54 Complaints Resolved at MHADA's First Janata Darbar

The Mumbai Building Repairs and Reconstruction Board, operating under the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA), successfully hosted its first Janata Darbar Din today as part of the organization’s 100-Day Action Initiative, where 54 citizen grievances were resolved. This effort underscores MHADA’s ongoing mission to improve service delivery and citizen engagement.

The event was conducted at Bharatratna Gulzarilal Nanda Hall at MHADA’s headquarters in Bandra (East), led by Mr. Milind Shambharkar, Chief Officer of the Mumbai Board. He directed officers to act swiftly on the issues raised and ensure unresolved matters are prioritized.

As part of a broader state-wide initiative guided by the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister & Housing Minister Shri Eknath Shinde, this plan focuses on citizen-centric reforms. Following these directions, Mr. Sanjeev Jaiswal, IAS, Vice President and CEO of MHADA, instructed all regional boards to conduct Janata Darbar Din to directly engage with the public and resolve complaints quickly.

The hearing addressed various public concerns such as non-allotment of rehab homes to families living in transit camps for years, delays in handing over units after redevelopment of cess buildings, pending occupancy certificates, and the need for faster document verification for residents in redevelopment-affected properties.
