Citizens Receive Relief at 17th MHADA Lokshahi Din
Immediate directions issued in two public grievance matters
• One grievance related to Mumbai Board and one to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Board
Mumbai, dated May 11, 2026:
The 17th Lokshahi Din, the monthly public grievance redressal forum conducted by the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA), was organised today at Grihanirman Bhavan, Bandra (East). The forum was held under the chairmanship of MHADA Vice President and Chief Executive Officer Shri Sanjeev Jaiswal (IAS). During the hearing, two applications submitted by citizens were taken up and directions were issued for their timely resolution.
In the first matter, Shri Raosaheb Kamble had submitted a grievance regarding a tenement under the “First Come, First Served” scheme of the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Board’s 2012 lottery. Shri Kamble had paid the full sale price for the tenement. However, since the payment was made after the first successful applicant, possession of the said tenement was handed over to the earlier applicant.
After hearing the grievance, Shri Sanjeev Jaiswal directed the concerned officials that, as Shri Kamble had already deposited the entire purchase amount with the Board, no additional amount should be recovered from him. He further instructed that another available tenement in the same housing project be identified and made ready for allotment after carrying out necessary repairs, renovation, colouring and related works.
Shri Jaiswal also directed the concerned officers to complete all required procedures and hand over possession of the ready tenement to Shri Kamble at the earliest. The officials were instructed to ensure completion of the matter before the next Lokshahi Din scheduled in the following month.
The second application was submitted by Smt. Pratibha Ghadge, a resident of Ashray Cooperative Housing Society, Charkop. In her application, Smt. Ghadge stated that although a toilet had been constructed as per the approved building plan, the society had obstructed access to the toilet and had also disconnected its water supply.
Taking note of the matter, Shri Sanjeev Jaiswal directed the concerned Cooperative Deputy Registrar of MHADA to convene a joint meeting between the office-bearers of the society and Smt. Ghadge, so that the issue may be resolved through mutual discussion. He also instructed that the water supply to the toilet in Smt. Ghadge’s flat be restored immediately.
Out of the two applications heard during today’s Lokshahi Din, one matter was related to the Mumbai Board, while the other pertained to the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Board.
On this occasion, concerned officers from MHADA and the respective Boards were present.
