Today, the Mumbai Housing and Area Development Board (MHADA) successfully organized a computerized lottery draw for the allocation of 663 rehabilitation units under the society’s redevelopment project at Plot No. R-9.

The event was hosted at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Hall in Goregaon (West) and chaired by Mr. Milind Borikar, Chief Officer of the Mumbai Board. Using the RAT (Randomized Allotment of Tenement) system, MHADA ensured a fully automated, unbiased draw. Beneficiaries were assigned their housing unit numbers—along with building, wing, and floor details—in a manner that upheld transparency and fairness throughout the process.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Borikar underscored that MHADA’s digital lottery mechanism eliminates human intervention and follows rigorous protocols approved by the government. “As a state agency, MHADA is committed to carrying out allotments through proper channels and technology-backed systems,” he said.

In a welcome update for the society, Mr. Borikar also shared that, upon request from the residents, MHADA’s Vice President and CEO, Mr. Sanjeev Jaiswal, IAS, has greenlit the installation of a solar energy system. Preparations for its implementation are currently underway. In addition, gym equipment will be made available to enhance facilities at the society’s fitness center.

The project was officially granted its Occupancy Certificate (OC) on April 1, 2025. While Development Control and Promotion Regulations (DCPR) prescribe 412 parking spaces for the project, MHADA has exceeded expectations by provisioning 686 parking slots—guaranteeing one parking space per unit.

To ensure continued support after handover, Mr. Borikar confirmed that MHADA will address any structural repair requirements within the first year of possession through its appointed contractors, free of charge. Moreover, despite the start of the key distribution, monthly rent compensation will continue until May 2025. Starting from January 2018, a total of ₹129 crore has been distributed by MHADA as rent assistance to eligible members of the society.

Following the conclusion of the draw, lottery results were immediately posted outside the venue and will also be made accessible on MHADA’s official website (mhada.gov.in) by 6 PM today.

Allottees can begin collecting their keys and possession letters from Monday, April 7, 2025, at the Executive Engineer’s office, Goregaon Division, MHADA Headquarters, Bandra (East). Beneficiaries are advised to carry a valid government-issued ID (such as Aadhaar) to complete the handover process.
