MHADA to Organize 19th Lokshahi Din on July 13
Vice President and CEO Sanjeev Jaiswal to Chair Public Grievance Hearing, Focus on Quick Resolution of Citizen Complaints
Mumbai, July 9, 2026: The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) will organize its 19th Lokshahi Din (Democracy Day) on Monday, July 13, 2026, from 12:00 PM at the auditorium on the fourth floor of the MHADA Headquarters in Bandra (East), Mumbai. The meeting will be chaired by MHADA Vice President and Chief Executive Officer, Shri Sanjeev Jaiswal (IAS).
MHADA has appealed to citizens to actively participate in this initiative. Since January 2024, Lokshahi Din has been held on the second Monday of every month at the MHADA Headquarters in Bandra (East), providing citizens with a platform to directly present their grievances and seek quick resolutions. So far, 18 Lokshahi Din meetings have been successfully conducted under the leadership of Shri Sanjeev Jaiswal.
During Lokshahi Din, citizens' complaints and applications are discussed openly in the presence of the concerned officers. This transparent process has helped resolve many long-pending cases and has enabled citizens to receive faster, fairer, and more transparent solutions. The initiative has also strengthened public confidence in MHADA's commitment to transparency, accountability, and citizen-centric governance.
Before every Lokshahi Din, Shri Sanjeev Jaiswal personally reviews the progress made on complaints received during the previous session and monitors the action taken by the concerned departments. This regular review process has made Lokshahi Din an effective bridge of trust between citizens and the MHADA administration.
MHADA has informed citizens that anyone wishing to participate in Lokshahi Din must submit their complaint in the prescribed application format. Applicants are required to submit two copies of the application at least 15 days before the scheduled program. The prescribed application form is available on MHADA's official website under the "For Citizens" section in the "Lokshahi Din" category.
Only individual grievances or personal requests will be accepted during Lokshahi Din. Applications related to matters pending before courts, revenue or appeal cases, service or establishment issues, applications not submitted in the prescribed format, applications without the required supporting documents, cases where a final reply has already been given or is due, repeated applications on the same matter, or complaints that are not personal in nature will not be considered during the hearing.
Applications that are not eligible for Lokshahi Din will be forwarded to the concerned department within eight days for necessary action. A copy of the forwarding communication will also be sent to the applicant.
