Collective Reading of the Preamble on the Occasion of Constitution Day at MHADA
Mumbai, 26 November 2025: The Constituent Assembly of India adopted and presented the Constitution to the nation on 26 November 1949. Marking the completion of 76 years of this historic event, Constitution Day was observed today at the headquarters of the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) in Bandra (East). On this occasion, a collective reading of the Preamble to the Constitution was conducted.
The programme was held under the chairmanship of Shri Sanjeev Jaiswal (IAS), Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of MHADA. The event was attended by Shri Milind Shambharkar (IAS), Chief Officer, Mumbai Building Repair and Reconstruction Board; Shri Milind Borikar (IAS), Chief Officer, Mumbai Housing and Area Development Board; Shri Dheerajkumar Pandirkar, Chief Engineer, MHADA; Shri Sunil Nanavare, Chief Engineer; Shri Anil Wankhade, Secretary, MHADA; Dr. Vishal Rathod, Chief Officer, Konkan Board; Shri Pravin Salunkhe, Chief Architect and Planner; and Chief Public Relations Officer Mrs. Vaishali Gadpale, along with officials and staff of MHADA. During the programme, dignitaries offered floral tributes to the statues of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.
With the resolve to build India as a sovereign, socialist, secular, democratic republic, and to secure to all citizens justice—social, economic, and political; liberty of thought, expression, belief, faith, and worship; and equality, the Constitution of India was adopted, enacted, and dedicated to the people on 26 November 1949. The Constitution came into force on 26 January 1950. To promote awareness and understanding of the Indian Constitution among citizens, “Constitution Day” is celebrated nationwide. In this context, today’s programme was organized.
The introductory address for the programme was delivered by Shri Abhay Ramteke, Executive Engineer and Chief Executive of the MHADA Backward Class Employees Association.
