MHADA Digital Ganeshotsav 2026: DigiMHADA App Opens New Platform for Festive Creativity

Mumbai, September 7, 2026: The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has launched “MHADA Digital Ganeshotsav 2026: Ganeshotsav at Your Home, Celebration with the MHADA Family!” on the DigiMHADA app. The initiative aims to bring together residents and Ganeshotsav mandals across MHADA colonies while giving them a digital platform to showcase their creativity, cultural traditions and community initiatives.

The competition was launched by IAS Sanjeev Jaiswal, Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of MHADA, with a focus on encouraging meaningful and environmentally responsible celebrations. Residents celebrating Ganeshotsav individually and Ganeshotsav mandals operating within MHADA divisional board areas can participate by registering through the DigiMHADA app.

Participants will need to provide basic details about their celebration and can upload photographs of their Ganesh idol, decorations and special arrangements, along with a video of up to two minutes. The competition will be conducted district-wise according to the jurisdiction of MHADA’s divisional boards, while Mumbai will have separate categories for Mumbai City and Mumbai Suburban areas.

Special emphasis has been placed on the theme “Green Ganeshotsav, Clean Ganeshotsav.” Celebrations will be assessed for the use of natural and reusable materials, reduced plastic use, eco-friendly decorations, water conservation, proper Nirmalya management, efforts to reduce noise pollution and social awareness messages presented through decorations.

Winners will be selected based on public voting, while outstanding celebrations will also be recognized across different categories. Participants will be evaluated on creativity, social commitment, environmental sustainability, decoration and the overall presentation of their celebrations. Winners will receive prizes and mementoes.

Through DigiMHADA, the initiative seeks to promote cultural heritage, community participation, environmental awareness and social unity while connecting MHADA families across Maharashtra on a common digital platform. MHADA has encouraged residents, Ganeshotsav mandals and devotees to participate actively and share the unique spirit of their celebrations with people across the state.
