MHADA Headquarters Marks India’s 80th Independence Day With Patriotic Flag Hoisting Ceremony

Mumbai, August 15, 2026: The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) celebrated India’s 80th Independence Day with a patriotic flag-hoisting ceremony at its headquarters in Bandra East, Mumbai. Sanjeev Jaiswal, IAS, Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of MHADA, hoisted the national flag in the presence of senior officials, employees, security personnel and their families.

Following the flag hoisting, personnel from Kherwadi Police Station, the Maharashtra Security Force and MHADA security teams presented a ceremonial salute. The gathering then joined together for the national anthem and Maharashtra state song, creating a strong atmosphere of national pride and unity.

The celebration also featured cultural performances by MHADA officers and employees, along with enthusiastic participation from their children. Patriotic songs highlighted the sacrifices and contributions of India's freedom fighters while conveying messages of national unity, social responsibility and commitment to nation-building.

A key highlight of the event was the release of the Independence Day special edition of MHADA’s publication, “Parisaar Parichay,” by Sanjeev Jaiswal. The special issue covers important housing-related topics and highlights MHADA’s development initiatives, public-oriented programs and citizen-focused efforts.

Milind Shambharkar, Chief Officer of the Mumbai Building Repairs and Reconstruction Board, extended Independence Day greetings to MHADA employees and their families. The event was attended by senior officials and employees from various MHADA boards and departments, including chief engineers, board officers, public relations officials and security personnel.

The celebration concluded on a positive note, with employees and officials reaffirming their commitment to patriotism, public service, social responsibility and the continued development of Maharashtra’s housing sector.
