MHADA Launches 5 AI-Powered Digital Services to Improve Efficiency and Citizen Support

The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has launched 5 artificial intelligence (AI)-powered digital services to improve administrative efficiency, simplify government processes, and provide faster, more accessible services to citizens. The services were launched on October 12, 2026, by MHADA Vice President and Chief Executive Officer IAS Sanjeev Jaiswal as part of the authority’s broader digital transformation initiative.

The new services aim to reduce repetitive work, improve accuracy, save time, and make information easier to access. They are designed to strengthen document management, financial reconciliation, land-related information searches, citizen support, and access to official resolutions. The initiative also supports government process reform by integrating AI into key administrative activities rather than simply converting paper records into digital formats.

The upgraded Unified Citizen Facilitation Centre will improve MHADA’s existing CFC service, allowing citizens to submit letters, applications, and documents online. Its AI-based document analysis feature will suggest up to three relevant officers or departments, helping applicants direct their requests correctly. Citizens who are unsure where to send their documents can select the “Not known” option for assistance from CFC officials. Applicants will also be able to track their submissions through e-Office reference numbers and check the status of their requests.

The Finance Reconciliation Engine will help MHADA’s finance teams match bank statements, RTGS transactions, and cashbook entries. It will automatically identify matching transactions and highlight unmatched records for further review, reducing manual work and improving the accuracy of financial records.

The Files Naming and Tagging system will automatically classify and tag uploaded documents, making files easier to organize and retrieve. It will also support document summaries in Marathi and English, along with secure information sharing. Meanwhile, an AI-powered virtual assistant connected to MHADA’s Geographic Information System will help officials find land-related information through conversational searches without having to navigate complex GIS records manually.

The fifth service, Resolution Extraction and Linking, will help employees search and classify resolutions passed during MHADA meetings. Users will be able to locate resolutions by number, subject, or related details and open the relevant pages or sections of original documents directly, reducing the time needed to find official records.

Together, these 5 services mark an important step in MHADA’s efforts to build a more efficient, transparent, and citizen-focused administration. The authority expects the new digital tools to simplify internal workflows, improve access to information, and create a stronger foundation for AI-enabled governance.
