MHADA Nashik Board Hosts Second Janata Darbar to Address Grievances
Reinforcing its commitment to responsive governance, the Nashik Housing and Area Development Board, a division of MHADA, convened its second Janata Darbar session today. The session addressed 15 citizen complaints, focusing on issues such as conveyance deeds, lease renewal requests, and interest relief on maintenance dues.
Chief Officer Shivkumar Awalkante presided over the session, which was attended by Board Chairman Ranjan Thackeray. Following MHADA’s decentralized grievance redressal framework—similar to the Lokshahi Din held at the main office—the Nashik Board now conducts Janata Darbar sessions on the first Monday of every month.
This initiative offers residents a direct platform to engage with administrative officers and receive timely responses to their concerns.
During the session, Mr. Awalkante personally reviewed each grievance and instructed officials to take immediate action. The program continues to be a vital part of the 100-day Action Plan rolled out by the Hon’ble Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, under the guidance of Deputy Chief Minister and Housing Minister Eknath Shinde. This structured roadmap includes a seven-point agenda, one of which emphasizes responsive grievance redressal across all MHADA divisions.
Following this framework, and on instructions from Mr. Sanjeev Jaiswal, IAS, Vice President and CEO of MHADA, the Nashik Board launched Janata Darbar Day to ensure transparent and prompt handling of public concerns. The first session had seen six complaints, while the latest saw increased participation.
To participate in Janata Darbar, applicants must submit their requests in the prescribed format (Forms 1A to 1D), which are available on MHADA’s official website: https://mhada.gov.in. Complaints must be personal in nature, filed in duplicate, and submitted at least 15 days before the scheduled hearing date. Acknowledgement receipts are provided upon submission.
Applications that fall outside the eligibility—such as matters under court review, revenue disputes, appeals, service-related issues, or those missing proper documentation—will not be accepted for the Janata Darbar platform. Instead, such cases will be redirected to the relevant department within eight working days, and the applicant will receive a copy of the forwarding action.
