Mumbai, September 18, 2025:

The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA), a citizen-centric organization, continues to strive to provide convenient, transparent, and efficient services to the public. In this direction, MHADA has already introduced several digital services such as the Citizen Facilitation Center (CFC), Visitor Management System (VMS), and DG-Pravesh. Continuing these efforts, the ‘MhadaSathi’ AI Chatbot service was launched today by the Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of MHADA, Mr. Sanjeev Jaiswal.

Speaking at the launch event held at the Gulzarilal Nanda Auditorium at MHADA Headquarters in Mumbai, Mr. Jaiswal demonstrated the chatbot and stated that in this era of digitalization, MHADA has consistently improved its functioning and introduced technology-driven services for the benefit of citizens. The ‘MhadaSathi’ AI Chatbot is another significant step in this direction.

He informed that in the first phase, the chatbot has been made available on MHADA’s official website, enabling citizens to access accurate, reliable, and prompt information on various topics. In the second phase, the service will soon be made available on mobile platforms as well. This facility will reduce the need for citizens to visit offices repeatedly, save their waiting time, and provide instant access to correct information.

The ‘MhadaSathi’ chatbot is available in both Hindi and English languages. It provides easy access to information related to all nine MHADA boards at a single platform. Additionally, it includes a voice-based feature, making interaction more user-friendly and convenient. This service is based on artificial intelligence and will be continuously upgraded based on feedback received from citizens.

Under this initiative, citizens will be able to obtain information related to MHADA’s functioning, computerized lottery systems, the current status of their applications, tender notifications, ongoing housing projects across the state, and updates on new rules and regulations.

Mr. Jaiswal further stated that the waiting time at the Citizen Facilitation Center has now been reduced to just 7–8 minutes. Citizens can now scan and submit their documents, saving considerable time. In the next phase, a system is being developed that will allow citizens to submit their documents online from home.

He also mentioned that approximately 150 million documents have been made available on MHADA’s website, resulting in a significant reduction in the number of applications filed under the Right to Information (RTI) Act.

The event was attended by Chief Officer of the Mumbai Building Repairs and Reconstruction Board Mr. Milind Shambharkar (IAS), Chief Officer of the Mumbai Board Mr. Milind Borikar (IAS), Chief Engineers Mr. Dhirajkumar Pandirkar, Mr. Maheshkumar Jeswani, Mr. Nanaware, Deputy Chief Executive Officer Mr. Anil Wankhede, Chief Officer of the Konkan Board Mrs. Revati Gaikar, along with other officers and staff.
