Joshi Marg and Naigaon, along with the Kannamwar Nagar project at Vikhroli (East). During the visit, he reviewed the progress of ongoing construction works, assessed the quality of execution and took stock of the timelines fixed for completion of various phases of the projects.

Shri Jaiswal first visited the Worli BDD Chawl Redevelopment Project site and inspected the construction works being carried out there. Under this project, 556 rehabilitation tenements have already been allotted to eligible residents. Shri Jaiswal also visited the homes of three beneficiaries and interacted with the families residing in the newly allotted tenements.

During the interaction, the beneficiaries expressed satisfaction over the construction quality, spacious planning, clean environment and modern facilities provided in the new homes. They shared that after spending several years in old and congested structures, receiving secure, well-planned and rightful 2 BHK homes in the heart of Mumbai has brought them immense happiness and pride.

The residents also stated that the new homes have brought a visible improvement in their everyday lives. Children now have a dedicated space to study, women feel safer in the cleaner and better-planned surroundings, and senior citizens are benefiting from improved accessibility and convenient facilities. Some beneficiaries remarked that the redevelopment has not only changed their houses, but has also brought a positive change in their overall way of living.

Local residents appreciated MHADA’s efforts towards completing the project within the planned timeframe. They also expressed satisfaction over the continuous communication maintained by the administration during the rehabilitation process and the responsive approach adopted while addressing citizens’ concerns. During the inspection, Shri Jaiswal directed the concerned officials to ensure that all works are completed within the stipulated timelines and as per the prescribed quality standards. He stated that the BDD Chawl Redevelopment Project is among MHADA’s most significant redevelopment initiatives and aims to provide residents with quality housing supported by modern amenities and strong infrastructure.
