MHADA Reviews Two Citizen Applications During 20th Lokshahi Din

Mumbai, August 11, 2026: The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) held its 20th Lokshahi Din at its headquarters in Bandra East, providing a direct platform for citizens to raise grievances and seek administrative action. The session was chaired by Sanjeev Jaiswal, IAS, Vice President and Chief Executive Officer, MHADA, with two applications taken up for hearing.

The first application was submitted by Deepak Rane concerning a complaint before the Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies related to the registration and functioning of the office-bearers of Shubham Cooperative Housing Society in Building No. 10 of the Navi Chikhalwadi MHADA Colony. After reviewing the matter, Jaiswal directed the concerned Deputy Registrar to conduct a fresh hearing. He also instructed the Chief Officer of the Mumbai Building Repairs and Reconstruction Board to ensure that the matter is reviewed by the appropriate Deputy Registrar.

The second application was filed by Krishna Jadhav regarding a decision issued by the Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies in connection with his complaint against the managing committee of Yashodip Cooperative Housing Society in Nehru Nagar, Kurla East. Following the hearing, Jaiswal directed the concerned Deputy Registrar to reconsider the earlier decision in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Maharashtra Cooperative Societies Act.

The 20th Lokshahi Din reflects MHADA’s continued efforts to provide citizens with a transparent and direct grievance redressal mechanism. By reviewing individual cases in the presence of concerned officials and issuing directions for further action, the initiative aims to strengthen accountability and improve the delivery of citizen services.
